  • Abigail Alyn Rich completed her Master’s of Arts in Anthropology with a focus in dance from Indiana University Bloomington this Spring.  Her thesis, for which research was conducted in Summer 2009 at the Paul Taylor Summer Intensive in NYC, was titled “Capturing the Fleeting Moment:  Preserving the Paul Taylor Dance Company’s Repetoire Through Student Reconstructions”.  She is also engaged to Timothy Grose and will be married in December 2010.  The couple currently resides in Beijing, China where Rich is researching Chinese minority dance and Grose is a visiting scholar at Beijing Normal University.
  • Laya Barak, who currently teaches at Steps on Broadway and Dance New Amsterdam, has been likewise hired by the Ailey School of Dance
  • Kelly McCormick Bangs  performed with Amy Marshall Dance Company during their New York City season at the Ailey Citigroup Theatre March 2010. She is also a soloist member of Illuminations Dance Company, based in New Rochelle, NY, as well as a soloist member of DeMa Dance Company in Brooklyn, NY. 
  • Carly Gessin is working Marketing Coordinator for THE WEEK, is a freelance editor for Dance Magazine, Booking Manager for Cornfield Dance Company, teaching yoga, and performing in the New York City area.
  • Mandi Harring was just hired by the South Carolina Contemporary Dance Company to be a part of their premiere performance in September, 2009.  She will be performing in two works, an original work by the artistic director as well as “Maple Leaf Rag” choreographed by the legendary Martha Graham.
  • Ashley Jones is a faculty member of the Central Indiana Academy of Dance, in Carmel, IN where she choreographs, teaches and is also the director of the Youth Company, which is one of four companies within the MidStates Regional Dance America Company, Central Indiana Dance Ensemble.
  • Abigail Lansdown is an apprentice with professional dance company Kim Robards Dance in Denver, Colorado. She also performed Elizabeth Shea’s Unstrung, with original score by Jacob’s School of Music composition professor Jeffrey Hass, at the 2009 International Computer Music Conference in Montreal, Canada.
  • Courtney Ramm was awarded a Summer Research Grant from the Hutton Honors College for her project, Searching for the “Ideal” Diet for Dancers: A comparison of a Holistic vs. Standard American Approach to Diet.
  • Former dance major Noah Trulock is an apprentice with Dance Kaleidoscope in Indianapolis, IN, under the direction of former Graham soloist David Hochoy.
  • Salena Watkins, who serves as the business manager for the New York-based Keigwin and Company, has recently been promoted to Director of Fiscal Services at Pentacle/Danceworks.
